9 Days Great Sahara Desert Tour from Marrakech

1 Day: Full day trip from Marrakech to Essaouira Mogador

After breakfast, we will begin our Marrakech Sahara Desert Tours by full day excursion to Essaouira from Marrakech. Our Driver / Guide will pick you up from your hotel or Riad to enjoy a drive of around 3 hours from Marrakech to the old Atlantic coastal town of Mogador. There is a lot to see and do along the way such as a visit to women’s cooperative where Argan oil is produced. Continue our road to reach Essaouira the Pearl of the Atlantic it has a rich historical background as well as a very touristic appeal due its annual music Festivals. You will have chance to  explore the ancient Medina  ‘Mogador’ (Essaouira), a name given by the Portuguese, its charm is undeniable with its white washed and blue shuttered houses, art galleries, wood workshops, fishermen and colorful boats  all enclosed by ancient red walls of the Portuguese colonial age. The town faces a group of rocky islands and is surrounded by a clean sandy beach. It is the perfect place to enjoy some local seafood depends on your tastes for lunch. In the Afternoon, we will travel back to Marrakech, overnight in your Riad or Hotel.

2 Day: Marrakech » High Atlas » Kasbah Ait Ben Haddhou » Dades Valley (km 310)

Meeting at 8h00 a.m with your driver at your Hotel,depart from Marrakech to Dades valley, through the Tizi- N-Tichka pass (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. From Marrakech to Ouarzazate, we will enjoy the scenic road, beautiful landscapes with different colors and the Berber villages along the way. We will have free time to visit the old Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and have lunch. Afterwards, we go further south east to the green Dades valley and the city of roses via the fascinating Skoura palmery. Dinner and overnight in Dades Valley.

3 Day: Boumalne Dades » Tinghir » Erfoud » Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we will take the road of 1000 kasbahsdrive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley. 45 km further, you will get to Tineghir with itsbeautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter. We will continue to Toudgha Gorges (Todra), free time to go on trek along the canyons of about 300m high, a favorite place for rock climbers. Afterwards we will leave to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on the way before arrive to Erfoud. Then we’ll head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After a welcoming glass of tea in a hotel near the duens, departure on the camels. Once at the bivouac, we wll take a camel ride to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. Back at the bivouac, dinner and overnight in tents in the desert (an unforgettable night)..

4 Day: Merzouga Sahara Desert Adventure Trip

At early morning your camel guide will wake you up to watch and enjoy the best sunrise in your lifetime. After breakfast, you will camel trek back to your Riad or Hotel in Merzouga where your driver/ guide awaiting to start our off-road adventure tour around sand dunes. Take the advantage to discover the region of Merzouga. Explore Berber villages begin by a visit to Khamlia village known as the black people. The hospitably welcomed with a cup of tea while enjoying their spiritual Gnawa music. Enjoy the panoramic view of sand dunes, and experience nomad’s lifestyle as they are living under tents and taking care of herds of goats and camels. Visit some deserted mines and oasis of palm trees. Head back to Merzouga. You have free time experience Merzouga streets. Dinner Bed in the hostel or Riad.

5 Day: Merzouga » Erfoud » Ziz Valley » Errachidia » Midelt » Fes

If you are not a sleepy person, wake up early and wait until dawn: the show is unforgettable. After breakfast we will return with the dromedaries and we will leave for the imperial city of Fes. We will cross the Ziz Gorge, Er-Rachidia, the Middle Atlas to the Zad Pass and the town of Midelt at 1488 m altitude. We will continue in the direction of Azrou, to visit the monkeys, and then again Ifrane and finally, Fes.

6 Day: Fes - Guided visit of the Medina

After your breakfast, you will walk to discover Fes Medina; the world’s largest living medieval city and a UNESCO heritage site. It is differs from other cities by its divided Medina which include New Fes (Fes-el-Djedid) and old Fes (Fes-el-Bali). New Fes was built in the 14th century so imagine how old Fes-el-Bali (old Fes) is. In fact, this city was founded in the 9th century by the first Muslim dynasty to rule Morocco, the Idrisside. Since then, Fes has always played a pivotal role in the history of Morocco. Fez city’s oldest stunning monuments. it is a must that shouldn’t be missed while you are traveling to Morocco. Enjoy a half-day walking guided tour exploring the ancient historical monuments in the Old Medina like: Al Quaraouin (the oldest University in Morocco), Nejjarin Museum, Jewish Quarter, and view Fes’ famous leather tannery from above, and more. After finishing your visit of Fes, you will go back to the same riad or hotel, where you slept the first night.

7 Day: Fes » Meknes Imperial City » Volubilis ( Roman Ruins) » Chefchaouen ( Blue city)

Today, we will drive to Chefchaouen the blue pearl via Meknes where we will stop to see the fascinating gate Bab Mansour, the Mulay Ismail Mausoleum and the Sahrij Souani, before head to Volubilis Romain ruins it is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites in Morocco. You will have a guided tour of the site and learn more about the Roman Empire dating to 225 BC in Morocco. Continue our journey to reach Chefchaouen Medina situated at the footstep of higher Rif Mountains, just inland from Tangier and Tetouan. Experience the blue city of Morocco. It is a beautiful unique city, with its white washed walls and blue doors and windows. Unlike many parts of Morocco, Chefchaouen was occupied by Spain; therefore there is much influence from the Spanish civilization and Moorish architecture. Night in Riad or Hostel situated in the heart of the blue Medina.

8 Day: Chefchaouen » Rabat Imperial City » Casablanca (White city)

After breakfast, you will start travelling to Casablanca via the Imperial city of Rabat, the administrative capital of the Kingdom. It overlooks the sea. We will see the famous red ocher walls. Visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, famous Hassan tower, and the Mohamed 5 mausoleum. Afterwards, we will continue our road trip to reach Casablanca the economic capital of Morocco, in the late afternoon, overnight in the hotel. 

9 Day: Casablanca » Marrakech end of the trip adventure

Depart in the morning for Marrakch. After breakfast, we will begin our journey with a visit to explore the beautiful sight of Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca White City it s one of the one of the largest mosques buildings in the world, before we travel back to Marrakech Red City your departure point. After arriving in, you will take a walk through the souks and handicraft centers. The rest of the day will be at your leisure. To walk around the famous Djemaa El Fnae square or to do what you had decide to do in Marrakech before your travel to Morocco. After you finish we will drop you off to the hotel or Riad or to the airport depends of the time of your departure.
